As a personal stylist, I love what I do so much because I get to see the instant results my clients get with their personal style – increased confidence in their style and their OWN skills at putting an outfit together, being able to literally ‘throw it on and go’ because they now have the tools, actually having FUN with shopping and creating new outfits because they’re inspired, excited and KNOW what they want.

It makes my heart sing when I check in with a client and they’re over the moon excited about how differently they feel about their style and self confidence. However, I really love when I see that a client creates an outfit on her own using the tools and the guidance I gave her. Making it easy, effortless and FUN is my end goal for each and every one of my clients.

What was the problem/challenge you faced before you met me and decided to do the Virtual Style Bootcamp?

The challenge I was facing was wanting to dress professionally and stylish for my new career as Feng Shui consultant.  I had previously had a job where I worked from home and dressed causally.  Starting my own business and now networking and meeting with clients, I wanted to have a professional and stylish appearance and feel confidant.

What was the first impression when you first starting working with u*styled?

My first impression I received during our first session, was that you were definitely a professional and it was going to be a very personal and thorough experience and you wanted to find the best look for me.

What was the result/benefit of going through the Virtual Style Bootcamp experience?

To my amazement, after working with you it was the knowledge of working with my body type and how important belts and fitted clothes were to accent my waistline.  Before working with you, I realized I had no shape to my style.  I also starting experimenting and recognizing the right colors for me and to my surprise I started adding and loving bright colors.

Also, I learned how important it is to take photos of myself in an outfit.  Even though I would look in full length mirror after dressing, seeing myself in a photo and looking at my body language, I really could feel and if I liked the outfit or I actually looked frumpy in it…great tool!  I will continue to use the camera….. and my almost five year old granddaughter became my photographer!  She was quick with the Iphone camera and we had fun working together.  She actually started to put outfits and accessories together for me.  I believe we created a budding stylist and or photographer!

Tell me a bit about your shopping trip with your daughter and granddaughter? What had shifted for you all?

The day my daughter, granddaughter, and I went shopping for the white blazer that Catherine suggested I add to my wardrobe was such a fun day!  I had been sharing with my daughter, (who was on maternity leave), all the information that Catherine was telling me.  My daughter was getting just as excited about learning new style information and was shopping for new clothes for her return to work.

I think our new confidence just let us get out of our old box and ways of dressing and my daughter was trying on all the clothes that she had avoided previously, such as skirts and dresses because she thought her legs were too thin. However, with Catherine’s instructions to me to add belts, the right necklaces, fitted jackets and or cardigans, every outfit came together so easily and we had such a fun time.  We experimented, shopped in stores we probably would have bypassed previously and we made our decisions without looking at prices.

As a result of Catherine’s sessions, I am now able to mix and match my clothes to reflect the new me! And I actually feel younger!
