I’ve worked with Caroline a lot of the past few years and it’s been really fun to watch her style literally transform before my eyes. A big WHY for taking Style Power on Tour, aside from getting the reach of the Style Power message out there in a much bigger way, was to practice the art of letting go.
It was also about tuning in. Trusting myself.

This Friday is actually U*styled’s 6 year anniversary.
6 years ago, August 15th 2008, was my last day at BCBG.
People have told me that I’m brave or courageous for taking that leap.
Last week I really got to stretch myself and walk my walk on Visibility (one of the key things I work with my clients on through their style).
As much as I’m an extrovert and love being around people, I can also easily be an introvert and let my shy side win over when I’m in an unfamiliar situation.
And being in a new city (Atlanta) by myself definitely made me want to just stay in the hotel room and relax at times.

The ocean is a metaphor for love as it’s expansive. You expand because of love. And True Love is infinite. You may hit a rocky patch, but the underlying love can help you weather whatever waves you encounter because it’s never-ending.

Lately, I’ve been really impressed with the women in my life.
I mean, I guess I always have. My clients are amazing and my friends are everything to me. They’re my extended family.
This past weekend I had the opportunity to go to the San Diego Summit of Women Investing in Women. The women I met there were just astounding. This wasn’t just about empowering women, but about giving them the tools as business women to ID the best kind of financing/investors for their businesses as well as giving them the tools to know how to be a savvy investor.
My yoga instructor shared this in a tough class that was certainly testing my limits, but these words really hit home for another reason.
I was getting ready to take Ustyled on the road for a few months of travel, speaking and working with clients in cities across the country (and world!). It was a kind of crazy idea that honestly scared me.
