Andie: I found myself feeling like my wardrobe and style were incongruent with the real me. My closet felt like a hodgepodge of various pieces that I liked, but I felt like I was missing key pieces to pull my wardrobe together. My closet was overflowing, yet I felt like I never had anything to wear! Getting dressed had become a bore and I ended up going back to the same key staples and not touching the majority of my clothing. And shopping was overwhelming because I didn’t even know where to begin and didn’t want to buy yet another piece that felt like it didn’t fit in. So, instead I’d only buy safe pieces that felt boring or cheap options that were poor quality.
U*styled: What was your immediate reaction to the experience?
Andie: Having Catherine work her magic on my closet was such a fun and playful experience! Even though I’ve read all the fashion magazines for years and was a big shopper, I learned more about clothing in just one day than I knew was possible! I was so grateful for Catherine’s ability to tell it like it is, pull out the authentic expressions of who I am, and make the entire process so effortless and fun! I felt really clear about which staples and accessories I needed to tie my closet together and felt so refreshed by getting rid of the stuff that it was time to part ways with! I immediately knew this was something I should have done LONG ago.
U*styled: How did it affect your style over the long term?
Andie: Catherine’s tips and the resources she provided gave me the foundation to really take my style in a new direction. With a corporate background, I had a lot of suits and business attire that were taking up space and not representative of me or my holistic nutrition counseling business. Since working with Catherine, my style has become much more cohesive, while still maintaining the variety and playfulness that really expresses my interests and lifestyle. I became much more adventurous with trying new combinations and outfits that are unique and have a WOW factor.
U*styled: How did that affect your life and business?
Andie: Now I feel a great sense of confidence knowing that I have a number of options for any occasion — whether it’s meeting with clients, giving workshops or presentations, attending networking events, date nights, and even casual trips to the farmers market. Though I’ve always had an interest in fashion, I just don’t have as much time for shopping nor the know how that Catherine does for seamlessly pulling things together. With her tips for accessorizing and putting outfits together, I feel polished and am finally wearing a wider range of my clothing, and I’ve saved so much time in the process!
U*styled: What about getting ready each morning? Going shopping? How have those experiences changed for you since working with U*styled?
Andie: Getting ready has become so much more fun! My closet and accessories are all arranged beautifully, and it’s so much easier to see everything and know what works together. If I ever have a moment when I’m stumped, I go to the photos and resources that Catherine put together and it’s like having her on call! I honestly find that I’m doing a lot less shopping and a lot more of wearing pieces I had that were in low rotation. But, shopping is now a total joy – and I’m in and out of the stores in minutes because I now know how to quickly evaluate whether a piece will really work for me and my closet.
