One of the key reasons why I moved to DC last year was to connect more directly to the women’s leadership movement. Which is why I have loved being able to support amazing organizations like Women in Government Relations with the Style Power™ message since landing in DC.
Another organization I’ve been working with is She Should Run. More often than not, women downplay their natural talents. If it’s easy for us, is it a valuable skill? (Um, yes!) If it’s what you would do anyway, does that mean we should be acknowledged for it? (Absolutely!)
Click below for a cheeky call to action from She Should Run:
When women run for office, they’re elected at the same rate as men.
The problem is that they don’t run at the same rate as men.
This month on Twitter we’ve been highlighting women who embody #stylepower because we are all about connecting, collaborating and celebrating each other and our successes. That’s how we ALL rise up … together!
And what I’ve seen since arriving in DC is that these groups committed to helping women rise up as leaders DO collaborate. I encourage you to check out She Should Run, Running Start and All in Together to learn more about how YOU can contribute to seeing more women rise. Each organization has it’s specific focus, yet is so complimentary. And they are working together to share information and support each other as we’re all in this together.
So, if it’s not you, do you know a Joan?
I encourage you to share the book (and download your own copy!) with the women in your life.
